The SECRET PLACE
These are brutally odd days.
The artwork displayed in this showcase offers a window into our student's minds. It has been produced during, or directly following, some of the strangest days of their lives.
Pandemic. Unrest. Isolation.
In a world we often can't recognize, it is easy to feel like we are in total darkness.
We are all seeking refuge.
Because of Christ and His radical love for us, we have a retreat,
our own Secret Place, a place of refuge in the midst of darkness.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”

We are so thankful for technology and the opportunity to honor our students and the Visual Arts program through this website while we are still unable to celebrate their creativity in person. We lift up our amazing artists for continuing their creativity, even while being at home and transitioning back into the classroom. We know this stage of life is temporary and we are so proud of our strong art students and their brave hearts as they open up even during these unusual times. Enjoy!

The Visual Arts program at Crean Lutheran High School provides a healthy environment for students to cultivate creativity and see Christ in the world around them. Students develop a lifelong appreciation for the arts through the courses: Exploratory Art, Honors Exploratory Art, Honors Drawing and Painting, Sculpture I & Honors Sculpture II, Photography I & II, Honors Advanced Art, and AP Art.

Each course incorporates a Christian worldview and focuses on the idea that we create because we are created in the image of God. Through the Visual Arts program, students will leave with the understanding of the creative process, historical context, visual communication, and applications that connect to real life experiences.
