My sustained investigation is about the modern day beauty standards in Korea and the US. Through these following questions I created my sustained investigation pieces, How does social media platforms influence people and their view on beauty standards?,and How does my experience living in Korea and the US make me notice about beauty standards in these two different cultures? I favor plastic surgery since it is common in today’s society. Even though there are side effects those who get plastic surgery are ready to face the consequences. Through research, I have found out that social platforms and influencers influence modern society.

My sustained investigation describes the beauty standards in these two countries and how they influence one another. Many of my works consist of perfect women that achieved the look through plastic surgery.  I use a lot of mixed media in my work to portray many meaningful messages. My first work consists of an influential woman figure with a mirror background. This shows the women's desires to look appealing when they look at themselves through the mirror. Following, the second work for my concentration is about the western influence in Asia. Koreans are wanting to look like foreigners who have exaggerated features through plastic surgery procedures. Through many failed experiments, practices and revisions I have decided not to finish not use these art works.
